چکیده
Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICC) consist of an intravenous device widely used in neonates intensive care units, characterizing a procedure that is related to long repertoire complications can intensify neonatal morbidity and mortality. The study aims review analyze the factors associated with resulting from use peripherally inserted central catheter neonates. Method: This bibliographic, descriptive analysis, integrative literature type, searches carried out Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) PubMed databases. Eight complete articles were selected, available open access Portuguese English published years 2018 2022. Results: From analysis classes, three categories emerged: Class 1- Risk Factors Associated PICC Use, 2 - Complications Deriving PICC, 3 Professional Training against Maintenance PICC. Conclusion: it was evidenced insertion maintenance mainly directed control nosocomial infection, highlighting adherence aseptic techniques for handling catheter, performing dressing proper hand hygiene.

We present two cases of patients being treated for diabetic ketoacidosis in the intensive care unit who experienced cardiac arrhythmia secondary to peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs). In one instance, the patient became bradycardic and experienced related loss of consciousness, ultimately requiring cardiopulmonary resuscitation. In the second case, the patient experienced an episod...

BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVES Securing long-term venous access is an essential part of sick newborn care. The malposition of central line tip leads to several complications. There is a need for an easily available bedside investigating tool to diagnose these malpositions. This study was done to compare the effectiveness of real-time ultrasound (RTUS) with X-ray in identifying the peripherally inserte...
